Makeup Artist in Notting Hill

Pastel townhouses, communal gardens, and bridal makeup that suits the neighbourhood’s ease.

Notting Hill weddings have a particular mood — relaxed, personal, a bit editorial — and the makeup should match. My W11 mornings tend to happen in tall townhouses with friends drifting between floors, a photographer catching the light on the stairs, and a bride who wants to look polished but never “done”.

The neighbourhood photographs like a film set, from the painted terraces to the communal gardens, so I finish every look for daylight and candid lenses first. It’s also where I teach many of my one-to-one lessons — at your kitchen table, with your own makeup bag, honestly appraised.

Locally booked

Getting ready in Notting Hill

I’m booked for bridal preparations in homes around Westbourne Grove, Elgin Crescent and the Ladbroke estate, boutique-hotel mornings at The Portobello Hotel, and parties that spill into the communal gardens in summer. Short walks to the ceremony are common here — your look is finished, photographed and weatherproofed before you step outside.

Good to know

Booking in Notting Hill

My wedding is in a Notting Hill garden — will the makeup hold outdoors?

Yes. I build outdoor looks with long-wearing, weather-resistant layers, and finish them for natural light, which is the most honest light there is. A small touch-up kit can be left with you for the evening.

Do you do natural, “barely-there” bridal makeup?

It’s my favourite brief. Skin that still looks like skin takes more technique than a full glam look, not less — and it’s very much the Notting Hill register.
